London Squirrel Virginia was born in London, England, in 1705. Her father was a merchant, and her mother was a homemaker. When London was just a young girl, her family decided to emigrate to the American colonies in search of a better life. They settled in the colony of Virginia, where they hoped to build a new home and establish a new life for themselves.
London's life in Virginia was very different from her life in England. In England, she had lived in a large city, where she had access to all the latest fashions and luxuries. In Virginia, however, life was much simpler. The Squirrel family lived in a small cabin on the edge of the wilderness. There was no running water, no electricity, and no indoor plumbing. London had to learn to adapt to this new and unfamiliar way of life.
Despite the challenges, London quickly came to love her new home. She loved the freedom of running wild in the forest, and she loved the sense of community that she felt among her neighbors. London also learned to appreciate the simple things in life, such as the beauty of nature and the warmth of family.
As London grew older, she became increasingly involved in the life of her community. She helped her parents with the housework and the farming, and she often volunteered her time to help others. London was a kind and compassionate young woman, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
In 1725, London married a young man named John Cary. John was a farmer, and they together built a successful farm and raised a family of their own. London and John were happily married for many years, and they lived to see their children and grandchildren grow up and have families of their own.
London Squirrel Virginia died in 1795 at the age of 90. She lived a long and full life, and she was a beloved member of her community. London's story is a testament to the strength and resilience of the human spirit, and it is an inspiring example of how one person can make a difference in the world.
This book is a must-read for anyone interested in Colonial American history or in the lives of women in this era. It is a fascinating and engaging account of the life of a young girl who faced many challenges but who never gave up on her dreams.
