About the Author

Carmen Maria Machado is an award-winning queer Latinx writer. She is the author of the novel In the Dream House, which was a finalist for the National Book Award for Nonfiction, and the short story collection Her Body and Other Parties, which won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction. Machado's writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and Granta, among other publications. She is a professor of creative writing at the University of Iowa.
